- City Island - City Island is downtown Harrisburg's major city park. It is home to the Harrisburg Senators minor league baseball team, as well as the minor league soccer team. City Island is accessible from downtown via the Walnut Street pedestrian bridge, or by car via Market street. Besides hosting the two minor league teams, City Island also has batting cages, an arcade, miniature golf, Susquehanna Outfitters to rent kayaks, canoes and bikes, and river access. It is also a local running and bike path as the loop around the northern part of the island is almost a mile long. There are a variety of food and souvenir vendors open during the baseball games. There is also a mini railroad that runs around the island and a riverboat that features daytime & dinner cruises, and much more. Over all this is a great place to relax with family, dogs or alone if you have some time, and the kayak trips are a great alternate way to see the area.
- Hollywood Casino - Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course features a variety of entertainment options, including slots, table games, live thoroughbred and simulcast racing, the Rodeo Drive gift shop, a Hollywood Memories museum, and an array of casual and fine dining options. Hollywood Casino is open year-round, 24 hours a day.
- Tröegs Brewery Tours - Tröegs Brewery provides guests with a complete brewing experience. The brewhouse is located in a 5,000 square foot tasting room that opens onto a beer garden. Visitors are able to observe the brewing process firsthand, and take a self-guided tour along a window-lined hallway for a close-up view of the entire brewery.
- Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts - Experience the intimacy and impact of a live concert, theater or dance performance. Take in a Hollywood blockbuster on a larger-than-life IMAX screen. Dive into science with three floors of interactive, hands-on exhibits. There is always something exciting going on at Whitaker Center, Central PA’s most engaging entertainment venue for visitors of all ages

- Pennsylvania State Capitol - In addition to visiting the Welcome Center, you may want to consider a 30-minute guided tour of “the handsomest building” President Theodore Roosevelt ever saw. Capitol Tour Guides are available to point out the architectural and artistic highlights, and to make the Capitol’s history come alive for you.
